some graphic design work...

This is some graphic design work I did to add to my portfolio. I designed this poster once before but I didn't like how it looked so I decided to redesign it today. The previous poster design is below. I think the new version (above) is an improvement on the older version. I simplified it and made the layout more clean and clear. I might make minor changes but overall I'm happy with the result. In the original photograph, she wasn't wearing makeup either. I added the lipstick and eye shadow using the power of photoshop.  It definitely adds punch to the color. 

I think I'm getting a little obsessed with posting and I should probably do more work instead. See ya. 

more animation

This is all of the rough animation I've done so far with everything edited together. I'm pretty happy with the result although there are things I need to fix and tweak which I'm currently doing right now. I will post more soon. Thanks for looking and any comments are always welcome. 

On another topic, I finally found another job! It took me a long time but I finally received another job offer. It's at a real estate company about 5 min away from my house and it would be a graphic design/administrative job. The pay is descent (much more than what I was getting at my last job) plus they provide benefits, sick days, etc. so that is pretty exciting for me considering I've never had that before.  Not having to commute a couple of hours every day to work is going to be really nice and free up a lot of my time. 

I'm still looking for animation work to do on the side and I've been finding job postings for that so I've been applying to anything animation related out there.

sample stationary card

I have an interview tomorrow for a graphic design/administrative assistant position at a stationary company. Wish me luck. Anyway, I decided to add this to my portfolio because I don't have much graphic design work combined with illustration.  I haven't used the pen and ink style in a while so I decided to do something simple and show my computer technical skills for the interview.  I wanted to do another one but I'm afraid I don't have the time. This was colored in photoshop and the font was done using Illustrator. I might like to do more of these ilustrations in the future because they are very quick to do. See ya 

animation!

As you may or may not know, I ended up getting this freelance animation job to animate a music video for a start up rock band called The Silent Years. I honestly don't know how I got this job. I found a job post which explained that a band was looking for an animator to animate a music video. I applied just for the hell of it and two weeks later they got back to me. Regardless of how I got this job or why they picked me for it is beyond me but whatever.  

The video above is the rough storyboard/animatic of my initial idea. It still needs some tweeking here and there which is what I've been doing as I've been animating it. 

This is the rough animation I've done so far. Keep looking for more updates.
