random sketch

  This is a random sketch I just did.

I ended up reading a tutorial in Advanced Photoshop Magazine about how the artist painted the cover image of the most recent issue. I never actually bought this magazine before but my mom ended up buying it for me a couple of days ago and I must admit, it has some helpful tips on digital painting. I decided to apply some of those techniques to my current illustration. These techniques have improved my work and some of the artists techniques I would never think of using. I even gained a little more knowledge in Photoshop and furthered my knowledge in making custom brushes. I created a skin pore brush and some more textures for the tentacles. 

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the result and I will continue to use some of these techniques I learned in the future. Def pic yourself up a copy of the magazine.  

Here is some more progress. 'm going to make some final touches so I'll post the finla version soon.

Random sketch I did. I might finish and color it. I'll see. I think I've figured out some of the problems I might have been having with drawing before. I'll def keep working on it. 

This is some progress....

This is a new character design I'm working on. I finally drew it in a way I'm satisfied with. I redrew this from an earlier concept I did last year when I was in a character design studio. Maybe when I'm finished with this, I'll post the old version of it on here too. The drawing is a million times better than the earlier version. It's actually on my website (www.IanTopple.com)if you were really interested in looking at it sooner. I can't believ e how badly drawn it was. 

I drew part of this at work with a ball point pen, then did the finished drawing in photoshop. Check for updates soon!

This was a sketch I did while I was on the LIRR on the way home last night. 

Finally finished

I think this is pretty finished. I don't know what else I would do to work on. This was the first time where I made a custom brush to paint the tentacle hair. It gave it the texture that I wanted. Creating your own photoshop brush definitely helps in getting certain texture on things. I'm gonna start making more custom brushes from now on. All in all I'm pretty please with the result. I might make the background darker to add more contrast. 

flyer design stuff....

I felt like showing some more graphic design work. This is one of the flyers I designed so far at my job. They are trying to sell this property before 90 days.

This is a working progress from the sketch below. I should be able to add some finishing touches on it by tomorrow. 

This is a new character design I'm working on. It's something I did a year ago but I wanted to redraw it so that it looks better. More postings soon...

Climb on my back

Okay. This is officially finished. (I'm still waiting to here back from the band if they need anymore changes.) After 4 months of hard work, it's finally over!

FINALLY FINISHED!!!!

This is it. The animated music video is practically finished! I will look at it tomorrow and make some minor changes here and there but for the most part, it is generally completed. Check it out!

I hate how the color gets washed out whenever i post on my blog and I know I always complain about it every time. Anyway, this is more progress on the original sketch below. Hopefully, it'll be finished soon.
