sketches

Here some sketches I did today. Work is pretty boring and there isn't much to do so I decided to do some drawings from observation and imagination for fun. Work should be slow for the rest of the week so hopefully I'll have more time to myself.

revised book cover....

So at my last job when I worked at the publishing company, I revised one of there book covers on the biography of Michael Jackson. The publisher called me yesterday and wanted me to revise the previous revision I designed by changing some of the text and one of the images. I figured I would post it here to show you some more of my graphic design work. I'm hoping they start using it for the new reprinted books.

I decided for the past two weekends to focus on drawing animals since that is a subject matter I'm not entirely confident with. These are sketches I did in photoshop for the past two weekends, spending some time to understand the general structure of different animals. I'm def learning a lot and since I have been studying human anatomy, it's def helping me study animal anatomy. I will be posting more soon. See ya.

some new illustration work....

I am not sure if everyone knows but I'm currently taking a Flash CS4 and Actionscript class and my first assignment is to come up with two concept designs for a homepage. I decided to redesign my portfolio website so I was going to use these characters as part of one of the concepts. I'm going to try and finish these in Flash. I'll post more soon.

rough painting....

This is a rough painting of an environment I started from a photo. I think it's looking good so far. I've only been working on it for more or less an hour. I feel like I need to work on defining some of my edges more but I will later on. I felt like doing this because I thought it would be a bit of a challenge. I really need to paint more often.
